Press Release: Sparking Academic Excellence Breakfast is April 27th

The Waterloo Schools Foundation’s Sparking Academic Excellence Breakfast returns on Thursday, April 27 from 7:00 – 8:30 AM at the Waterloo Convention Center.

This celebration showcases all of the exciting things happening in Waterloo Schools. Highlights include displays and student/staff representation from all 19 schools; emcee, Akwi Nji; a keynote presentation from Edita Begic; music provided by Waterloo students; a state of the District address from Dr. Jared Smith; and an introduction from Waterloo Schools Foundation’s Executive Director Hannah Luce. In addition, four students from the community will share how they have benefited from academic opportunities through WCSD and funding from WSF.

"We are eager to unlock the potential of the Waterloo Community School District through our annual celebratory Breakfast event,” says Luce. “This year, we plan to highlight our local leaders who are daring to #BeBold, show our community how valuable public education is, and provide increased opportunities for our community members to engage with our youth.”
