MIDDLE SCHOOL CTE CAMP

The Waterloo Career Center and Veridian Credit Union partnered for another year to provide middle school (6th - 8th graders) students with valuable career and technical education exposure over three days. From automotive to beauty and wellness to cybersecurity, students were able to build useful skills, explore exciting career paths, and delve deeper into their areas of interest.

ARTS IGNITE
Arts Ignite is a unique experience for our English language learners and Migrant students in grades 3–12 to continue growing their English skills through the arts over the summer. This year, led by three teaching artists from New York City, students are exploring songwriting, theatre, visual arts, creative writing, and more!
They concentrated on building core skills like creativity, confidence, collaboration, communication, and social-emotional learning. By exploring their creative potential, these students were able to imagine new possibilities and gain skills that will support them throughout the rest of their lives.

CAMP INVENTION
For another year, the Guernsey Foundation and WSF were able to provide $14,000 in scholarships to ensure over 100 students could attend Camp Invention!
Camp Invention is a week-long program that allows students to explore the world of STEM. The camp has five different modules for each future scientist to work on throughout the week. This year’s modules included everything from constructing a claw machine to exploring illusions and animation to designing rovers equipped with a robotic penguin that collects snow!
