Waterloo Schools Foundation Board Awards $8,503.58 in Grants

The Waterloo Schools Foundation has bi-monthly grant cycles for Waterloo Schools students and staff throughout the school year. This year to date they’ve given $33,000+ through their grant cycles and over $300,000 through other initiatives.


As only the second grant cycle of the 2023 - 2024 school year, over ten requests from the Waterloo Community School District students and staff were sent in. The exciting projects and experiences awarded, totaling $8,503.58, include:


  • Abigail Bries, Dr. Walter Cunningham School for Excellence - Cunningham Camera Club

  • Hannah Gates, Highland Elementary - 2nd Grade Celebrated Published Authors

  • Abby McKee, Irving Elementary - Interactive Floor

  • Jami Nott, Poyner Elementary - One Book/One School

  • Luke Overton, Hoover Middle School - Hoover After School Guitar Club


These grants will be funded through private donors and the Waterloo Schools Foundation’s grant cycle fund.


The Waterloo Schools Foundation’s next grant cycle opens on December 1st and closes on January 1st with grant recipients announced mid-January.
